- Step 2 – In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the Italian sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned.
- Step 3 – Stir in the thinly sliced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
- Step 4 – Add the sliced bell pepper to the skillet. Sprinkle dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes over the mixture. Sauté until the vegetables are tender.
- Step 5 – Pour in the red wine, allowing it to simmer and infuse the dish with its rich flavors. Let it reduce by half.
